Project Mustang Build

My kid is helping one of his freinds sort out a hatchet fab job on a twin turbo Mustang. Removing the entire exhaust system and intake system, replacing all the carbon steel and aluminum and silicone hoses with stainless steel and clamped fittings, building a newe intake manifold.

Some pix follow:
First of the carnage hatchet job by a "professional" in the business.

And now the start of doing it right. My kid drew it all up in Mastercam, Cut, formed, bent, welded this all up himself. Should be done in a week or two. Will post pix and a dyno sheet after its done. Was making 700 horsepower before.
The scoop looking thing is actually the point of turbo piping connection to the intake. It will all be under the hood.

Wow, very impressive. Hats off to your kid!!!!!!!!! :tiphat: Awesome post Fred. :thumb:

Please share more on this project as you can. What HP are they shooting for, or do they have a target number?

I think that right now, he's only looking for a couple more hundred. Maybe 900 total. They are doing bigger injectors and will remap.

I'm just seeing whats here , Thats some mighty impressive engineering & fabricating Fred . Any updates on it ? :notworthy:

The car then went to a buddy of my kid - Rocky Troxell. Yanked it all apart, and went full NHRA legal chassis. I think 7.80 frame. Not sure. I was by Rocky's a few weeks ago and the car was just getting finishing touches.
