How fast have you gone?

What is the fastest you've driven a car, truck or bike on the open road? Open road means public road, not a race track.
I regularly go over 100 kph but rarely 100 mph. I have gone 110 tops one time. No tickets involved. It was wide open road, no other cars around.

Tell us a little about how fast you've gone and how you did it.
 
the taurus can do 112, gut thats where the limiter kicks in. i had this over 130 with the needle buried. basically all on the highway.

I drove a former Busch car 6 laps at Talladega and hit between 150 and 160 MPH, that was legal. I took a Nissan Maxima up to 110 once, that one was illegal.
 
Talladega would sure be Kewl to cruise around at that speed. Did it seem like you were going that fast? Without the normal things on the side of the road speed perception could be way off.
 
It didn't really seem that fast, but it was disorienting. Going through the turns I was so focused on driving that I would forget which end of the track I was on until I would see the back stretch or the tri-oval on the front.
 
I have no clue how fast I've been in a car, don't remember :yahoo:

But on my Kaw 454LTD, it maxed out at 113. Did that numerous times when I was young and dumb.

!30mph in a Escort RS Turbo....as a passenger on the back of a GSXR1100 topped over 140mph.

Was young and used less brain cells in them days....now i hit max 80-90mph on a highway journey(70mph being the legal limit).
