Flies, damn flies!

Don't have any idea where they all came from but it is crazy with flies this year. Hanging fly strips in March is a first for me. The really strange part is nobody has cleaned out their barn or any of the normal things that bring them on. The only plus side of this warm spell is the honey bees are also off to a good start as well. They are going in the greenhouses and are on the flowers that are bloomed out. Strange year.

Brian, you need to get to TSC and get one of those bug zapper rackets. A friend of ours is on her 3rd year with one and loves it. We picked one up when we went for fruit trees last week. It is like a small tennis racket and uses 2 AA batteries to power the mesh that zaps them. It even works on the tiny little fruit flies and gnats. The dogs run and hide when they hear it.

I have a couple bug zappers already. The best thing with those is to give them to a neighbor. It draws the bugs from all over so if I give it to them, they'll get my bugs.

Had a huge amount of bugs come in with the loads of manure. It was some pretty fresh stuff so they were all over it.
