I've been dealing with my own computer acting up. Just upgraded to the latest version of Linux Mint 20.3 Cinnamon. Had to deal with Firefox Sync not liking some of my passwords and I lost a few and thank God I keep a paper record log book and now everything is back to normal (?) I hope.
Linux Mint 19.3 will no longer be support in 2023.

I've never heard of the 'Mint' Linux distro but I love Linux. No fun when a distro version that you like goes belly up. Hopefully moving to their latest version wasn't to painful. Upgrades have gotten easier for the most part.
I like Firefox too. No idea why Firefox sync would not like or remember some of your pwords. But, like you, I think it's important to keep a pword list outside of trusting any software to remember them. I never put the entire pword in the list but enough and a hint as to what it should be. So it's there but in code, just in case it is compromised, however unlikely, I feel better that it's not in the clear.

Linux Mint Cinnamon 19.3 and 20.3 are very user friendly and remind me a little of Windows7. It could have been a glitch as there was a T-storm not to far away and it may have done something. All the updated passwords are now recorded in the log book. You can run the latest version of 21 on a USB stick or even 20.3 Cinnamon https://linuxmint.com/

Interesting. I might have to give it a shot.
All my forums run on Linux so I'm all the time doing settings and writing scripts. I enjoy the command line but I started with it in the 80's. Most I know hate the command line. Even the admins who work at the ISP and help me with server issues. LOL
